This picture was taken at the World Performing Arts festival at the fortress stadium in November, Artists from all over the world participated. Art and Music is highly appreciated by a majority of people in Pakistan, but sadly events like these even with high security are the targets by subversive elements of society who deem art as an evil anti islamic activity. This particular festival had a bombing in its last few days, fortunately no lives were lost but it was enough to discourage people from attending.

It is sad about the low attendance due to earlier events. I hope more people attend art should be supported.
Some people choose not to have art in their lives, but they have no right to take it away from others who want artistic enrichment. "Live and let live" would come in handy right now.

I was lucky enough to see a few plays in the festival held in November 2007. Your post reminded me of the wonderful times shared with local friends....
Sad to learn that even arts events are not exempted from violence of bombings! Hope this harmful act would stop all over the world and may peace prevails soon!
