Jerusalem also has a graceful Government House, built by the British in 1930. Until the end of the British Mandate in 1948, it was the residence of the High Commissioner of Palestine.
I think your raj lasted a lot longer than our Mandatory Period, yes?
The building does look classic to me, very grand with its white color.

Welcome Danny, I'v gotten a few requests for sites from Kipling's Kim will be posting pictures of The Famous gun Zamzamah soon and the museum where Kipling's father was a curator. In the mean time since you are at the governor house in Kipling's Kim i will post a picture of the interior today.
Sorry forgot to mention the Governor house was built around a Tomb in around 1870 at the beginning of the british Raj to house the chief executive of the provence.
